With only four clients in a class, nilambu specializes in personalized attention in a relaxing, enthusiastic, fun atmosphere. This care brings greater concentration and consideration to each client’s training and ensures that your yoga practice serves you individually. Options will be given to adjust your practice to the level appropriate for you that day on your mat.

nilambu supports clients in the development of their own knowledge and ability so that the benefits of yoga are accessible and available at any time. Each client is provided with a written syllabus of the yoga asanas (poses) of the class in both Sanskrit and English, and this take home sheet enables clients to investigate further on their own through other resources and on their own mat.

Nothing beats the understanding of yoga that comes on the mat – from doing yoga.   nilambu offers:

The studio is neat and orderly and bright. High quality yoga mats and props are provided as is a bottle of water. Clean bathroom facilities are available. Parking is available either directly behind or on nearby streets.

Private Sessions
nilambu offers sessions with the most individualized attention – one to one. In a private session, we consult prior to investigate goals and needs, and nilambu prepares a customized session that addresses those wishes and challenges. This personal time is a great way to boost your practice or to hone in on a particular challenge. To encourage consistency, special packages are available. A semi-private session for two is an option that can be geared for you and a friend or for you and a partner.

Small Classes
Two aspects of nilambu classes make the experience unique:
the structure, which distills one area of yoga, and
the size, which is limited to four participants.

Each class deepens the practice by concentrating generally on one realm of poses. One week we center attention on standing postures, the next back bending postures, the next seated postures. You can see sample classes below. 

This experience allows the poses to build on one another which allows a deepening experience and understanding of the movement. Standing postures are a part of every class, but they are used to support and prepare for the designated spotlight. This focus unfolds the layers of the yoga practice both in the body and the mind. All classes include a greeting, Dhrasana (meditation), warm up, vinyasa series (flowing yoga asanas/poses) including sun salutation or moon salutation, corpse pose/close. Pranayama (control of the life force or breath) is incorporated occasionally.

Each class is limited to 4 people. This cap ensures the close attention and personalized instruction that makes nilambu unique. Class runs 75 minutes and begins and ends promptly on time. Preference for space will be given to those who purchase a pass (at any level) and whose attendance is regular. Those who pay by single classes won’t be able to have an ongoing reservation, but can check week by week for space.

Neptune Seminars
Neptune Seminars afford time to go to the depths. In this format, students can concentrate and distill aspects of yoga in a manner that a regular class session simply doesn’t allow time to do and provides a sequence of poses that address one common physical challenge – such as back pain, insomnia or headaches. These special Neptune Seminars will be offered exclusively to clients on occasional weekends.

Neptune Seminars will

  1. Feature guest teachers,
  2. Provide information on how to address particular concerns, or
  3. Offer an opportunity to focus on particular aspect of yoga practice

Group Lessons
If you have a group of 3 to 4 friends who are all interested in yoga, contact nilambu to set up a group lesson. A great party idea or a gift, the lesson can be customized to your groups interests and desires. A series of group lessons can also be arranged. Please inquire.
