Standing Postures and Sun Salutation Class

An asana is not a posture which you assume mechanically.  It involves thought, at the end of which a balanced is achieved between movement and resistance.

Benefits: Standing postures are invigorating. They refresh and stimulate the body while improving circulation and breathing.

Cautions: Pay attention to the placement of your feet first and foremost.  Next be aware of your balance and how you are maintaining the pose.  Lengthen into the floor to lift up; expand into your fingertips to broaden, lift the crown of your head to make room for your breath.
