Good general yoga sites with reliable information
Traditional Yoga Studies Interactive
Check out the FAQs, Articles and Scripture areas.  Traditional Yoga Studies is the center founded and directed by Georg Feuerstein, Ph.D., the foremost yoga scholar.

International Association of Yoga Therapists
This organization sets the standards for yoga therapists - including defining what yoga therapy is.  The International Journal of Yoga Therapy is a scientific journal I find invaluable and much of the information is available here online.

The Yoga Site
Features a store selling yoga items such as props, mats, statues, posters and information on conferences, retreat centers, articles.  The posture section is superficial (especially compared to Yoga Journal's), but the description of yoga styles is helpful.

Yoga.com
Neat downloads of wallpaper and downloads.  All sorts of yoga stuff - articles, videos, poses of the month.  A bit overwhelming visually, but worth a perusal.

Companion sites to yoga magazines
Shambhala Sun
Some of my favorite writers - Pema Chrodron, Sharon Salzberg, Anne LaMott - are regular contributors.  There is always something worthwhile and deeply thought.  A few essays in past issues, I often share with others.

Yoga Journal
Much changed since bought from the California Yoga Assocation.  Most popular yoga magazine.  Excellent, helpful pictures.

Yoga International
In several respects I like this publication better than the more popular Yoga Journal.  I especially enjoy a regular column on ayurvedic remedies.  The articles are deeply thought and analytical.   I often find many articles to recommend.

Breathe
This latest yoga magazine is very slick and very downtown.  I enjoy some of it.  One of my dearest friends, Ana Maria Velasco, a native of Columbia, was featured in the June issue on page 108. She is so beautiful , not just on the outside (that too) but from the inside. She's doing wonderful work with Azahar International which is a non-profit organization that promotes cross-cultural understanding, and peaceful
conflict resolution through Yoga and the Arts.  That's the kind of people this magazine highlights.

Publishers
Shambhala
Shambhala publishes spiritual books (inspired by many different religions). Severalon my bookshelf are in the marketplace thanks to them. I highly recommend their site.

Conferences and retreats

Como Shambhala
This quiet retreat is where I was able to experience such deep rest, I enjoyed a remission of my disease for six weeks following.  My practice also moved to a new level.  They attract top yoga instructors from all over the world.  This place in Turks & Caicos is the most beautiful site I've ever been too.  The food is outstanding - nourishing and delicious.  The spa services are top notch as well.  It's pricey - but there's nothing like it that I know of in the world.

Kripalu
A retreat center in the Berkshires (the northwest corner of Massachusettes), Kripalu attracts top teachers from around the globe.  Stephen Cope is also based there.

Omega
Their main campus is in Rhinebeck, but they also host conference in Texas, Florida, New York and the Carribean.   Every fall, they host the large yoga industry conference in either Miami or Manhattan.  Their varied programs include not just yoga, but other types of wellness and rejeuvenation weekends.  Their offerings are very extensive.

Yoga Journal
Yoga Journal magazine also hosts many regional and national yoga conferences.

Cool yoga stuff
agoy
Agoy is yoga spelled backwards, but there's nothing backwards about these stylish products.  British company, though.  Can purchase but it's all in British pounds.

Dharma Crafts
I love their In the Moment e-newsletter. They have lovely products to support your meditation practice and other Zen living practices.

Hugger Mugger

For yoga props and products including mats and mat bags this company is the best.  I use their mats in my studio.  The designer practices yoga and that's obvious.  They have props here I've not seen anywhere else.  I especially like their Arches Back Arch to open up the front body.  The items are the pricest on the market, but for the most part the value is evident.

Nuala
Nuala is Christy Turlington's clothing line of yoga attire.  She and Puma have assembled a fashionable collection some of which can be pricey.  The clothes are comfortable, and the few I have are well made and easy to move in.

Prana
I often get complements on the yoga pants I have from Prana.  They make all sorts of wear that is comfortable and stylish.

Tools for Yoga
This site is the most complete for all things yoga and is based at Studio Yoga in Madison, NJ where I practiced for two years (2001-2003).  Their tools are reliable and the real thing and very nicely priced.  They offer a very wide selection. Check here first for anything you may be looking to buy.
