Voyages
The world of yoga is enormous. This
vastness is exciting but also can be engulfing. To keep you afloat, I recommend excellent
resources to inspire you, encourage you, edify you and amuse you..
Product Gallery
Here are products I consider the most helpful. I include books, CDs and DVDs. If you are interested
in a specific area, feel free to ask me for other recommendations.
The opinions offered are mine alone and informed by my wide sampling
of all things yoga.
Link Gallery
The internet makes available an overwhelming amount of data on
all things – including yoga. Here you’ll find the web sites
I find the most reliable including to sites with
trustworthy information, to yoga magazines, to organizations that sponsor yoga retreats and conferences, and to vendors who offer very cool yoga stuff. The CD Warehouse is where I get the international music often used in nilambu classes.
Word Gallery
This area is a place of inspiration. In some yoga practices, action
is often emphasized at the expense of the mind. But true yoga accepts
the power of thought and the words that make them. Words can inspire
and change perspective and thereby change the experience of movement.
Here you’ll find philosophers’ and poets’ words that
I’ve found to be stimulating and moving.
Cartoon Gallery
Yoga, above all, should be fun and bring happiness to your life. And
nothing is droller than New Yorker cartoons that mock the stereotypes
and trends of this increasingly popular activity. Yoga should be approached
with a sense of humor. Enjoy and smile.
Photo Gallery
Here are photos of my youngest clients - my nieces and nephew - doing yoga. The little ones also make great weight props for my own practice - as they are all a slightly different weight. I'll put one on my back to deepen my child's pose or another on my knee to open my lotus. They're very useful as props, but here they are model yogis and yoginis. Other photos to come.
